Getting Regulation Right for a Digital Society
techUK represent our industry on tech policy and regulatory changes in the UK. Our current focus is on data protection, competition, online safety, and online fraud.
We convene our members and lead conversations with government and regulatory stakeholders to ensure the voice of the industry is heard. As the Government seeks to design new digital regulation for societal objectives, techUK wants to see the UK lead the way in building a coherent landscape that supports digital businesses by being pro-competition and innovation, while also protecting users from potential harm.

Public Policy Group
This Group is a forum for senior professionals in public policy, public affairs, and government relations, shaping the tech sector's policy landscape. It fosters discussions on political matters, identifies emerging issues, and works to establish industry consensus on policy developments.
Data Protection Group
The Data Protection Group, a cross-industry collaboration in the UK, aims to foster a robust data compliance environment for consumer trust across markets. It unites professionals and individuals passionate about influencing or understanding data protection in the tech industry.
Digital Regulation Working Group
Join the Digital Regulation Group (DRG) and work with members, regulators and policymakers to tackle some of the most pressing regulatory challenges that cut across AI, privacy, online safety and technologies of the future.
Innovation Policy Group
techUK’s Innovation Policy Group brings together members with expertise in the development and deployment of new technologies, with public policy professionals and key stakeholders. Its aim is to identify and develop coherent and relevant innovation policy asks that ensures the UK remains a competitive leader in tech innovation, R&D and the commercialisation of future technologies that are set to have transformative effects across the UK’s economy and society.
Open Data Working Group
The Open Data Working Group is a cross-industry techUK group working together on broad themes around smart and open data in the UK. This working group will examine how, building on the principles of open banking, we might extend the ability for innovators to access data and shape it into services, while crucially protecting ethics and consumer privacy.

Dani Dhiman
Dani Dhiman
Dani is Policy Manager for Artificial Intelligence & Digital Regulation at techUK, and previously worked on files related to data and privacy. She formerly worked in Vodafone Group's Public Policy & Public Affairs team supporting the organisation’s response to the EU Recovery & Resilience facility, covering the allocation of funds and connectivity policy reforms. Dani has also previously worked as a researcher for Digital Catapult, looking at the AR/VR and creative industry.
Dani has a BA in Human, Social & Political Sciences from the University of Cambridge, focussing on Political Philosophy, the History of Political Thought and Gender studies.
Javahir Askari

Javahir joined techUK in June 2022, as Policy Manager for Digital Regulation.
Prior to joining techUK, she worked at the New Statesman, delivering cross sector policy research and events for their policy supplement. Javahir previously worked as part of the educational programme at the European Commission based in London, engaging with the UK's youth on the Brexit process.
Javahir holds a BA Politics and International Relations (Hons) from the University of Nottingham, an MA Human Rights from University College London, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from BPP University.
Audre Verseckaite
Audre Verseckaite
Audre joined techUK in July 2023 as a Policy Manager for Data. Previously, she was a Policy Advisor in the Civil Service, where she worked on the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Bill at the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology, and at HM Treasury on designing COVID-19 support schemes and delivering the Financial Services and Markets Bill. Before that, Audre worked at a public relations consultancy, advising public and private sector clients on their communications, public relations, and government affairs strategy.
Prior to this, Audre completed an MSc in Public Policy at the Korea Development Institute and a Bachelor's in International Relations and History from SOAS, University of London. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time outdoors, learning about new cultures through travel and food, and going on adventures.
Neil Ross
Neil Ross
As Associate Director for Policy Neil leads on techUK's public policy work in the UK. In this role he regularly engages with UK and Devolved Government Ministers, senior civil servants and members of the UK’s Parliaments aiming to make the UK the best place to start, scale and develop a tech business.
Neil joined techUK in 2019 to lead on techUK’s input into the UK-EU Brexit trade deal negotiations and economic policy. Alongside his role leading techUK's public policy work Neil also acts as a spokesperson for techUK often appearing in the media and providing evidence to a range of Parliamentary committees.
In 2023 Neil was listed by the Politico newspaper as one of the '20 people who matter in UK tech' and has regularly been cited as a key industry figure shaping UK tech policy.
