Webinar recap - The Wireless Infrastructure Strategy: Delivering One Year On?
It's been 12 months since DSIT published the Wireless Infrastructure Strategy, and accompanying Spectrum Statement. Though arguably the Strategy was long in gestation, having been announced in October 2021. Still, it was then - and remains - a comprehensive overview of what the UK government thinks about 5G and advanced wireless connectivity. The "WIS" also included ambitious coverage ambitions, with modest investments in adoption through initiatives like the 5G Innovation Regions.
So - a year on, what has been delivered? And where have we seen progress?
Catch up on our webinar exploring more could be done to drive forward the delivery of 5G across all regions of the UK by 2030. We were joined by Talia Addleman, who provided an update from DSIT's Digital Infrastructure team, Chris Parkinson from Vodafone for the industry perspective, and Julia Allford and Janette Stewart from Analysys Mason, recapping their research projects that fed into the WIS on supply and demand evolution and network deployment barriers and enablers.
techUK convened this webinar to help feed into our member-led policy scorecard, which will be published in the summer.
